Our principal investigator, J.R. Maxwell, has over twenty-five
years of experience in law enforcement and investigations,
including USMC military law enforcement. For the past five years, Maxwell has used the skills gained during the previous years to great advantage by owning and operating a successful private investigations firm. API Investigations, LLC is the culmination of this effort to achieve self-empowerment and now operates on an international level with offices in both the United States and the United Kingdom.
Maxwell served as USMC Military Police Corporal and an Architectural Drafter and Designer. Maxwell served as a Combustion Monitoring Engineer for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) in California, prior to joining the Colorado Springs Police Department as a Patrol Officer. Maxwell then moved on to the world of Corrections, at the Colorado Department of Corrections, working up to Acting Disciplinary Hearings Officer, charged with a variety of duties including the training of staff and controlling all security and facility operations as Master Control Sergeant. Additionally, Maxwell served for ten years with the Olney Springs Volunteer Fire Department.
On January 1, 2003 Maxwell founded API (formally TONCK) Investigations, a privately owned and operated investigations firm, located in Southeastern Colorado. At this time, API (formally TONCK) offered a wide range of investigatory services to not only the citizens of Colorado, but in fact, had clients from several other states in the USA.
In 2004, Maxwell expanded API to working investigations worldwide. Maxwell has the resources to coordinate investigations in England, Greece, Canada and other countries.
The international work continues today as API continues to grow serving most post conviction and general investigations.
We continue to be dedicated to the highest level of customer service and the highest quality of private investigative services available in the USA and the UK.
